Here's the real talk on our gear oil without the sales pitch. We were using off the shelf 30 weight gear and engine oils for our engine counter balances. Even though we changed the oil a lot, the countershaft bearings still looked terrible when it was rebuild time. So we tested and switched to this new gear oil and the bearing life was greatly increased and the oil could be run much longer without fear of the oil breaking down. On the dyno, compared to super low viscosity oil that you have to change constantly, our new gear oil performed the same but the film strength and coating ability of this new oil was unbelievably better and it has made our X30 maintenance much easier. Bottom Line - You get the same level of performance as low viscosity gear oils but you have to change the oil much less.
