To get maximum legal performance you need to make sure the slide opens to the maximum opening but not so much that you get DQ'ed.

These Go-No-Go gauges are .005" smaller than the maximum on one end and right on the maximum on the other end. Just a few thousandths makes a big difference.

Tool measurements on each end -
Black Slide Tool - .280" / .285" (Kid Kart)
Black Slide Tool - .305" / .310" (Kart Kart)
Purple Slide Tool - .337" / .342"
Red Slide Tool - .435" / .440"
Green Slide Tool - .485" / .490"
Blue Slide Tool - .515" / .520"
Yellow Slide Tool - .565" / .570"

Check your tool, all measurements are approximate, these are racer tools, not calibrated tech tools
