Synopsis:

Comet Racing Engines had a great weekend in Homestead, Florida at the SuperKarts! USA Winter Series with 3 wins, 5 poles and numerous podiums.

What a way to start the 2021 karting season at the first weekend of the SuperKarts! USA Winter Series with 3 wins, 5 poles and multiple podiums for Comet Racing Engines drivers!

Arias Deukmedijian put on a Comet X30 for the start of the X30 Senior Prefinal Sunday, coming from 33rd to 12th in the prefinal and then from 12th at the start to passing for the lead and eventual win on the last lap in the final, as well as picking up the races fast lap!

What made this more incredible was a water line leak in the prefinal saw the engine get so hot the head stickers melted off! Fortunately the engine survived the prefinal and was up to full power for the final. We even had to go "old school" on the head stickers for the final! Arias also won the KA100 Senior final on Sunday and missed out on the final win Saturday by .087 seconds at the line with a Comet Racing Engines KA100!

Kai Sorensen won the X30 Junior Final on Saturday after scoring the pole earlier in the day. Kai followed that up with a 3rd in the final on Sunday.

Alessandro DeTullio was the driver to beat on Saturday in X30 Senior winning the pole (though an on track penalty in qualifying moved him to 4th) then winning the prefinal. Unfortunately an on track incident after the race excluded him from the event. Alessandro is a great driver and kid and we are excited to see him return in the near future.

Isaac Malcuit was walking away from the field in Micro Swift on Saturday after earning the pole earlier in the day. Unfortunately Isaac ended up in the barrier while leading and injuring his hand. Isaac toughed it out on Sunday bringing home an 8th. We wish Isaac a speedy recovery!

Jensen Burnett was another pole winner on Saturday, this time in Mini Swift. After a tough prefinal, Burnett stormed through the field in the final to end up on the podium in 3rd. Jensen lead the final on Sunday but thanks to an unfriendly curb, ended up with a DNF while running 2nd, when the chain came off.

Other strong runs this weekend included Cameron Weinberg earning the pole in X30 Junior on Sunday. Christian Miles taking 2nd in KA100 Junior on Sunday and Cole Kleck in 4th. Alessandro Truchot in Micro Swift on the podium in 3rd on Sunday. Comet drivers also had numerous top 10 runs.

Thanks to our great customers for a fun weekend with lots of great finishes. We are already back at it getting prepped for the second weekend of the Winter Series in February.
